We had a whole new issue presented to us this evening by his nurse. She informed him that he tested positive for C-difficile (c-diff) which would explain some of is bowel problems. This bacteria attacks the intestinal tract of people taking antibiotics and being in the hospital or care facility for long periods of time. The way they treat c-diff is with more antibiotics! When he was in John C Lincoln they tested him numerous times and it was always negative. He is so frustrated and he said he wanted the test re-run.
On a more happy note, he's doing well with his PT and OT and feels positive about it. Learning how to slide on that board from bed to chair or whatever is challenging to say the least especially since he can only use one hand but he's working on it.
